Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree

I wanted to post a couple pics of the boys dancing the other day in the living room. They are such cute brothers and when they are not screaming at each other and ticking the other off, they really have a lot of fun together. Actually I have a suspicion that part of the reason that they love each other so much is because of the fighting. Who can figure out the mind of a boy?

Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love everything about it. It starts early in the morning the day after Thanksgiving when you get up early to seek out the best deals in town along with everyone else and their mother. I literally go for the crowds..more so than the sales as strange as that sounds. ANY other time of year, I hate crowds, but at Christmas they are exciting. Who can figure out the mind of a woman? Ha! At this time of year, I want to stay at home and bake cookies every day. Oh and fudge. Always, always, there has to be fudge at Christmas. It is the only time of year when I want music on in the house all day long. The days seem to be cozier somehow while it is pouring down rain outside and I sit in my living room with the lighted tree and the stockings on the wall. (we have no fireplace or mantle so our stockings hang on our wall.) I may be wrong, but I think Christmas gets even more exciting as a parent then it ever did as a child. I am like giddy excited to see my kids open up their presents that we lovingly selected for them because we knew it would give them joy. I’m also like bouncing off the wall excited for Josh to open his present. I think this is the first year we’ve actually decided to wait until actual Christmas for opening our presents. Usually we get so excited we give them to each other early. I think as an adult I also have experienced more of life and seen things that aren’t so happy. So I think in that sense there is another element of joy and gratefulness in having the things that we have, most importantly our family. How I wish I could freeze time this Christmas. I know that trials and heartaches will come..they always do. But at this moment in time life seems so close to perfect.
