Pearls for my Little Girls

This is going to be a temporary place/thought holder for my new blog until I can ask my talented husband to make me a new one.  I’ve had the idea to create a blog with only bits of wisdom for my girls as they get older.  It will be a hodge podge of bits of advice from everything from beauty to marriage to friendships and life in general.  I thought it would be a fun way to write down things that I’ve learned in my life and pass them along to my girls.

Proverbs 31:30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

1. Drink lots of water.  You will look and feel better.

2. It is okay to show people exactly who you are. God made you. He doesn’t make mistakes and He made you for a reason. If you let others tell you who or what you can or can’t be, you will be hindering God’s plan for your life. Be yourself! Be who God created you to be! There is freedom there.

3. The world will always tell you that you need to look a certain way in order to be considered “beautiful”. This is a lie that every woman buys at one time in her life. You are beautiful. Even if you don’t look like the magazine covers.

4. In regards to your girlfriend relationships, I have found them to be: #1 Always complicated, #2 Never easy, #3 Often painful, #4 Not any easier as you get older, and #5 Almost always worth it.

5. Always be aware and careful of what you put into your body. Whether it be food that’s unhealthy for you, sugar, or something even worse like drugs or alcohol. Your body is a temple of God’s (See 1 Corinthians 6:19) and you need to take care of it.

6. Talk less and listen more.
